Yalda, a antiga celebração Persa (Ariana) da noite mais longa do ano, comemorado pelos ancestrais Povos persas há milhares de anos, na última noite do mês do Calendário Iraniano de Azar ou seja, a noite mais longa no Hemisfério Norte, o Solstício de Inverno (correspondente a 21 de dezembro do ano vigente).

Yalda é igualmente a noite do aniversário de Mitra, mencionado no livro sagrado persa de Zoroastro de Avesta.
Para os iranianos, as celebrações do Yalda prolongam-se a partir da meia noite, durante toda a noite até o amanhecer, para marcar o último triunfo da luz sobre as trevas, da bondade e da ascensão do Sol invencível supremo.

Yalda, the Ancient Aryan celebration of the longest night of the year celebrated by Persian ancestors since thousands of years ago on the last night of the Iranian month of Azar which is the longest night of the year, and the Northern Hemisphere’s Winter Solstice (corresponding to December 21st this year).

Yalda is also the night of the birthday of Mithra, Yazata mentioned in Persian Sacred Zoroastrian book of Avesta.
For the Iranians Yalda celebrations are carried out throughout the night and after the midnight to mark the final triumph of light and goodness over darkness and the rise of the invincible Sun.
